MEETING
HISTORY
The
School is being organised under the umbrella of Scottish Universities
Summer Schools in Physics (SUSSP). A registered Scottish charity, SUSSP
was first established in 1960 “to contribute to the dissemination of
advanced knowledge and the formation of contacts among scientists from
different countries” through the setting up of a series of annual summer
schools of the highest international standard. This series has earned a
strong reputation for academic quality, and the school on Ultrafast
Nonlinear Optics has been formally designated as the 66th
SUSSP meeting.
Previous
schools have triggered many multi-national research collaborations and
created professional alliances and long term friendships across Europe,
North America and beyond over the past 40 years. SUSSP has a
contract with Canopus-Springer to publish the proceedings of the
School as a high quality textbook. The book will appear within one
year of the School and all participants will receive a complimentary
copy.
